I can click on this Redshift material shift O. So again, create texture node shift T, and that'll bring up a texture and that won't actually copy, but now you can go shift O and that'll connect to output shift V connect to view port. And if I click on this, hit shift V, you can see that shift V does something completely different in the Redshift shader graph. But the moment I go back into my Redshift material and let's actually make the view port node here. Here if I just close out my Redshift shader graph and say, shift V is going to do something else, it's going to bring up my view port options here. Like here are some specific things that are only active when you're in model mode. And the nice thing about this shortcut key, as far as when we're assigning these to these Redshift functions, is that they're only going to work when you're actually using the Redshift shader graph editor. And then we can just go and say, shift V is the assigned shortcut for that. And then just in case we can do this connect node to view port. Let's go into this area here shift O, sounds like that's a pretty smart function. Now, all we need to do is assign a shortcut key to this, connect node to output. So once I hit assign, you'll see that, okay, the shortcut shift T is assigned to this treat texture node. And we're not done yet because we then need to assign that shortcut key to this function. So for this, since we're creating a texture node, it makes sense to say shift T so I'll hit shift and T and you'll see that will then show up in the shortcut. All you need to do is hold the shortcut key keys that you want to assign to it. Now you don't have to type in like S H I F T. If I click on this function, you can see that there's this shortcut area here. So let's go to type in create texture node. So what we can do is just search for the name. Now, it doesn't sound like we're customizing pallets, but if we choose customized pallets, it'll actually bring up customized commands as well. So what I can do to assign my own shortcut keys to those specific functions are to go up to window, customization, and go to customize pallets. So instead of having to go up here and create texture node, I could set this as a custom shortcut key, just like you can see here, the commander is Shift + C. So two of the functions that I use a lot in the Redshift for shader graph are create texture node, and then connect node to output. And I'm going to show this specifically for Redshift, because I find that by setting up two useful shortcut keys, that actually helps me work a lot faster within the Redshift shader graph, but again, you can use this to assign custom shortcut keys to any function inside of Cinema 4D not just Redshift. This week, I have a really great, not only Redshift tip for you, but a tip for you to work faster inside of Cinema 4D and that is how you can map custom shortcut keys. Hello again, welcome back to another Cinema 4D Weekly.
